Can You Take Tongkat Ali and Maca Together?

So Can You Take Tongkat Ali and Maca Together?

Yes, you can take Tongkat Ali and Maca together. They are actually very synergistic together as the benefits of each cover areas where the other herb does not cover.

Tongkat Ali vs Maca

You should take Tongkat Ali if you want the following:

  • Decrease stress
  • Improve sperm health
  • Get bigger (muscle mass) and stronger at lifting and other exercises
  • You want to increase testosterone

You should take Maca if you want the following:

  • You want to spend less money on a health supplement as it’s cheaper than tongkat
  • Looking to reignite your sex life
  • Boost your nutrient intake and absorption
  • Are suffering from menopause symptoms

Maca can help improve menopause symptoms

Menopause is officially diagnosed when a woman has gone without her menstrual cycle for one full year. If these symptoms are something you are experiencing while going through menopause, you should probably give Maca a try, since a review of 4 studies found it may be helpful in relieving these symptoms.

Maca may help increase sexual desire

A lack of sexual desire is an issue that many adults experience when they grow older. In fact, studies show that more than 50% of menopausal women in the United States have lower levels of sexual desire as they have aged.

So with this in mind, it is not surprising that so many are turning to natures herbs to boost their sexuality. But whereas a lot of these herbs fall short on their promises, the efficacy of Maca has been proven through studies.

For instance, one 12-week study measured mens sexual performance after taking Maca or a placebo. After only 8 weeks, Maca users reported a marked improvement in their sexual desire.

Maca could protect skin from UV radiation

Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is harmful and can break down exposed skin. Over time, it may cause wrinkles and raise the risk of skin cancer.

Interestingly, when applied to your skin, maca extract can help protect against such damages. This protective effect has been shown even in animal studies, including this one in rats. But I really have to point out that this effect has only been shown when the Maca is applied to the skin, not taken orally.

Maca is very rich in nutrients

Maca is an excellent source of many essential vitamins and minerals. Maca also contains health-promoting plant compounds, such as glucosinolates and polyphenols.

Tongkat Could Boost Testosterone Levels

More than ever people are thinking about taking exogenous testosterone or using things like TRT (testosterone replacement therapy). But Tongkat Ali has actually been shown to be a natural way to boost testosterone.

In one study, 76 men with low testosterone levels were given 200mg of Tongkat Ali each day for a month and the results showed that 90% of participants showed healthy testosterone levels once the study concluded.

Tongkat Could Improve Male Fertility

Studies have shown that men who take Tongkat saw improvements in seminal fluid and overall sperm motility. There are studies that showed even men sho were sub-fertile saw improvements in overall sperm quality meaning their chances of conceiving a child went from almost impossible to close to normal. Pretty incredible stuff!

Side Effects of Maca

Most healthy adults can tolerate dietary maca without too much trouble, though Peruvian indigenous peoples advise boiling the fresh Maca root, because there can be negative effects. Also, those who suffer from thyroid issues should talk to their healthcare provider before taking Maca, because it contains goitrogens, which are compounds that may disrupt the functioning of the thyroid.

Tongkat Ali Side Effects

Like maca, tongkat Ali is very well tolerated in most healthy adults, with very few adverse effects. But because of the absence of studies, pregnant/nursed women and children should avoid Tongkat Ali.

Thank you for sticking with me until the end of this breakdown of Maca vs. Tongkat Ali. Hopefully, this post helped you to determine which you will be using, and to get epic results.
