Naturally, you will have plenty of questions if you are a medicinal mushroom novice. Should you take cordyceps mushrooms before bed?

Does It Matter if You Take Cordyceps Before Bed?

Everyone reacts differently to adaptogenic mushrooms like cordyceps. You can definitely take cordyceps mushrooms before bed, it will not keep you awake by any means, although everyone is different, so you’ll have to see how your body reacts. Although most people use cordyceps mushrooms for their benefits to athletic performance, so if that’s your intention, it would be best to take them mid-morning to early afternoon.

Lion’s mane and reishi are two popular mushrooms for anti-anxiety health benefits and restful sleep, so they may be fine to take before bed. Again, this is something you can test yourself to see how each functional mushroom affects you.

Many people like to brew them up in mushroom coffee as well. Not only does it taste great but making mushroom coffee can help you establish a routine so you’re more likely to remember to take your mushroom extract every day. In this case, it’s best to take your cordyceps in the morning or early afternoon so the caffeine won’t keep you awake at night.

How to Take Cordyceps To Get The Most Benefit

As with all pharmacological mushrooms, you will not see a lot of effects right away from taking cordyceps. That is just not the way functional mushrooms work. Instead, taking mushroom extracts and powders consistently is what matters. They take time to get established in your system and start working. Medicinal mushrooms are not like caffeine, where you will immediately see the effects.

In most cases, you’ll need around two weeks before you see any healing effects from functional mushrooms.

Many adaptogens and herbs are designed to act in the same way.

It is important to not become discouraged or stop taking them if you feel that they are not “working”. Give them at least one month. If you are still unconvinced, just stop taking it and see what you feel like a week later. Like antidepressants, many people don’t realize just how much they benefit from cordyceps mushroom extract and other adaptogens until after they quit taking them.

At The End Of The Day

Cordyceps Mushroom Extract, and indeed, all mushrooms extracts, are usually safe for anyone, with few, if any, adverse effects. For avoiding brain fog, improving cognitive function, and protecting against memory loss, Cordyceps extract is a natural solution. As always, make sure you select the fungus extract made with the entire fruit, rather than mycelium from grains.

Just make sure you are taking it on a daily basis. The timing does not really matter that much.
